Are formulas copied?
Their results are: each cell carries the value Excel last calculated, not the formula itself. Formatting is not copied either.
What about .xls files?
Convert them to .xlsx first with XLS → XLSX, then split the result.
How large can the file be?
Up to 200 MB and 2 million rows, split into at most 1,000 parts.
