Common questions

Why won't my TS file seek properly in players?

Transport streams have no global index — they were designed to be decoded as they arrive over the air. Converting to MP4 writes a proper index (moov atom), which is why seeking suddenly works.

Will subtitles inside the stream survive?

Embedded broadcast subtitles (DVB) are not carried over — the video and primary audio track are. If you have subtitles as a separate .srt/.vtt file, our subtitle converters handle those.

Multi-audio recordings — which track do I get?

The first audio track. Multi-track selection is on the roadmap for the API.

Is there a file size limit?

Free users can convert files up to 25 MB without an account. Pro raises that to 500 MB per file with 3,000 credits a month; Business goes to 5 GB.
