Common questions

Does MP4 to MP3 lose audio quality?

Some quality is lost because MP3 is a lossy format. However, if your MP4's audio was already compressed (AAC or MP3 inside the container), the re-encoding adds only minimal additional loss. Formatly outputs at 192 kbps, which is high quality and sounds indistinguishable from the original for most content.

What if my MP4 has no audio track?

If the video has no audio, the conversion will fail with an error. Screen recordings, some animation files, and muted videos have no audio track. Try playing the video first to confirm it has sound before converting.

Can I convert a long video file?

Yes — conversions are not limited by duration, only by file size. Free users can upload up to 25 MB, Pro users up to 500 MB, Business users up to 5 GB. A 25 MB MP4 is typically about 3–4 minutes of standard-quality video.

Is there a file size limit?

Free users can convert MP4 files up to 25 MB without an account, or up to 10 conversions per day with a free account. Pro users get 500 MB per file and 3,000 credits a month. Business users get up to 5 GB.
