Common questions

Why convert TIFF to JPG?

TIFF files are uncompressed and often enormous, and many phones, browsers and chat apps can't even preview them. JPG is small and opens everywhere, which makes scans and print files easy to share.

Will I lose quality?

JPG is lossy, so it discards some data to shrink the file. For photos and scans the difference is invisible at normal sizes. If you need to preserve every detail, convert to PNG instead.

What about multi-page TIFFs?

Multi-page TIFFs (common for fax/scans) are best converted to PDF to keep all pages together — try our TIFF to PDF tool for that.
