Dramatically smaller
FLAC files are lossless and large — a typical album can exceed 300 MB. Converting to MP3 at 192 kbps reduces that to under 60 MB, ideal for mobile devices and streaming.
Plays everywhere
MP3 is supported universally — every phone, car stereo, smart speaker, and music app handles it. FLAC requires specific software or hardware that not everyone has.
Private & secure
Files are uploaded over HTTPS, processed on our servers, never shared with third parties, and permanently deleted after 1 hour.

Common questions

Does converting FLAC to MP3 ruin the audio quality?

Converting from lossless FLAC to lossy MP3 does discard some audio data. However, at 192 kbps or higher, the result is virtually indistinguishable from the original for most listeners in normal listening conditions. If you are an audiophile listening on high-end equipment, you may notice a difference — keep the FLAC as your master archive and convert a copy to MP3 for everyday use.

Should I keep my FLAC files after converting?

Yes — always keep the original FLAC files as your master copies. FLAC is lossless, so re-converting from FLAC to a different format later will produce the best possible quality. Converting an MP3 back to FLAC will not recover any of the lost audio data.

What bitrate is used for the MP3 output?

Formatly converts at 192 kbps by default, which is considered high quality and suitable for music and podcasts. Pro plan users can choose from 128, 192, 256, or 320 kbps when converting.

Is there a file size limit?

Free users can convert FLAC files up to 25 MB without an account, or up to 10 conversions per day with a free account. Pro users get 500 MB per file and 3,000 credits a month. Business users get up to 5 GB — useful for hi-res FLAC albums that can be very large.
